HOW IT WORKS
As condensate flows into the trap body, air and steam are trapped in the inverted bucket. This gives the bucket buoyancy and it rises with the condensate and quickly closes the valve. When entrapped steam condenses, bucket loses buoyancy, sinks and opens the discharge valve air. Which has accumulated in the top of the trap is immediately expelled by the pressure of the water which follows it to the trap outlet. When air or steam, again enter the inverted bucket, this cycle is repeated.
